                                   Welcome to The Mid West Plainsman Podcast

This podcast was created in 2023 during my recoup time from having GBS (gullian Barre Syndrome) which I had a bad reaction to the Covid Shot I had back in 2021.

My name is Earl Williams, I am the host and founder of The Mid West Plainsman. 

For the last 24 years, I have been involved in the DJ/Entertainment industry with 17 of those years being focused on podcasting and internet radio broadcasts. Since music is a big part of My life, I devoted my time and energy on working with independent artists to help promote them and their music.  Most of the time I come across artists here in Iowa or surrounding states. Other times I find artists from all across the country who write their own music which is what I tend to look for rather than those who only do cover work.

Don't get me wrong, doing cover work is a great way to get started as a independent musician- singer/songwriter. But what I look for are those who show their talent by writing their own songs and then putting the words to music.  Most every artist who I have had discussions with, have all stated they appreciate what I do for them and they love having multiple outlets to showcase their songs and to let people get to know them for who they are. 

This year 2025, I am proud to say I have made connections with contacts at the Mid West Country Music Organization which is similar to the actual CMA in Nashville. There are some managers and producers who have come to know me for my work and they too have been appreciative for what I do for their artists they represent.
